A team of 7 would hike up Monroe not only to celebrate her birthday, but also her #48 of 4000ft-er on the Whites.

We stayed at Dawn's place at N Conway the night before. The original hiking plan was big, but as the night went on... the plan got shorter and shorter. The last version we decided on was up Jewell Tr to Washington and loop over to Monroe, descent from Edmands Tr.

But as we drove through the valley this morning, we saw the southern Presidential was in the cloud and few drizzles convinced us to change our plan again to only do Monroe via Edmands.

We hit the trail at around 7:30 AM (7:29 Maine time).
