The plan was Damian and Greg would join me doing a loop from Signal Ridge to Desolution and Nancy Pond trail. It would be a great way to finish the 48th.

We were supposed to meet at 9:30 AM at Nancy Pond trailhead and spot a car there. But, I overslept that morning and arrived at Signal Ridge trailhead about an hour late. I figured they must have went ahead without me, so without wasting any more time, I put on my boots and practically ran up the trail hoping to catch them at the summit.

I have never once missed a hike during my entire quest for 48, but just this most important one. Most of all, knowing both of them, I knew they would have waited for a long time and must be worry about me. I felt extremely guilty.
